Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:45 AM–5:00 PM
Compensation: $80,000+ annually, depending on experience, with potential quarterly performance-based incentive compensation.
About the Role
Chariot Plumbing Supply & Design is seeking an experienced, results-driven Sales Manager to lead, coach, and develop our sales team while driving revenue growth through strong customer relationships and proactive sales strategies.
This is a hands-on leadership position that requires more than managing numbers and overseeing daily operations. We are looking for a sales professional who can identify opportunities, develop their team, and actively support sales efforts both inside and outside the showroom.
The ideal candidate combines strong sales experience with practical leadership skills, accountability, and the ability to turn sales data into meaningful action.

Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop sales representatives to consistently meet and exceed individual and company sales goals.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to review performance, identify challenges, and establish clear action plans.
- Provide hands-on coaching in prospecting, customer relationship management, follow-up, negotiations, and closing techniques.
- Establish clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable for results.
- Identify individual strengths and opportunities for improvement, providing targeted training and support.
- Lead productive sales meetings focused on results, customer opportunities, and continuous improvement.
- Foster a professional, collaborative, and accountable team environment.
Outside Sales & Customer Relationship Development
- Establish and maintain a consistent schedule of outside sales visits with both existing and prospective customers.
- Accompany sales representatives on customer visits to provide coaching, strengthen relationships, and support closing opportunities.
- Proactively identify opportunities to increase business with current customers and develop new accounts.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with contractors, builders, designers, and other industry partners.
- Help the sales team create meaningful customer connections that translate into long-term business relationships.
- Develop strategies to reengage inactive accounts, strengthen underperforming accounts, and expand customer opportunities.
- Ensure customer visits result in documented follow-up, clear next steps, and measurable sales opportunities.
- Represent Chariot professionally at customer meetings, industry events, and business development opportunities.
Sales Performance & Accountability
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, revenue, profitability, conversion rates, and sales activity.
- Use sales reporting and customer data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas requiring improvement.
- Establish measurable goals for customer visits, lead follow-up, account development, and sales growth.
- Ensure the sales team maintains consistent follow-up on quotes, open opportunities, and customer inquiries.
- Develop action plans to address performance gaps and improve sales effectiveness.
- Work with leadership to establish sales priorities, review budgets, and align team efforts with company objectives.
- Maintain visibility into the sales pipeline and ensure opportunities are actively managed through completion.
Sales Operations & Cross-Department Collaboration
- Support efficient daily sales operations while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
- Partner with purchasing, warehouse, accounting, and sales support teams to resolve customer concerns and improve the overall customer experience.
- Promote consistent use of company systems, sales processes, and established procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve sales workflows, communication, and operational efficiency.
- Assist in developing and implementing sales policies, procedures, and training resources.
- Collaborate with marketing on customer outreach, promotional opportunities, and business development initiatives.
- Support showroom presentation and customer experience standards.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of sales management or sales leadership experience , with demonstrated success in coaching teams and driving revenue growth.
- Proven experience in outside sales, business development, or relationship-based B2B sales.
- Strong understanding of sales strategies, pipeline management, customer retention, and account development.
- Demonstrated ability to establish expectations, manage performance, and hold team members accountable.
- Experience using sales metrics and reporting to identify opportunities and improve results.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on commitments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and CRM or ERP systems.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally for customer meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in plumbing supply, building materials, wholesale distribution, construction, or a related industry.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Experience developing outside sales strategies and managing established customer accounts.
- Experience leading teams that balance showroom sales, account management, and outside sales responsibilities.
- Advanced Excel skills, including reporting, formulas, and data analysis.
