Position Purpose
A versatile position within a dynamic nonprofit that
helps communities recover after disasters and gets children back in school. This position supports the field team with the day-to-day implementation of field projects, helping coordinate work teams and on-site activities while ensuring work is completed safely. The role is intended for someone with existing construction knowledge and hands-on experience who is ready to further develop their technical and site leadership skills.

Essential Functions
- Support the Field team in planning the workflow on construction sites, the day-to-day planning and coordination of construction activities.
- Support the field team with on-site tracking and documentation, including maintaining site diaries, work logs, and records of work completed, materials used, volunteer hours, and scopes performed.
- Support the tracking of construction progress and communicate delays, challenges, or resource needs to the Site Supervisor or Construction Site Coordinator.
- Together with the Site Supervisor hold daily morning meetings on site to deliver health and safety briefings and divide the work for the day.
- Provide training, guidance, and direction to different audiences, such as day volunteers and corporate groups, on work scopes and lead their on-site work teams.
- Oversee certain tasks on construction sites with guidance from the Site Supervisor or Construction Site Coordinator.
- Support the implementation of agreed construction methods, safety procedures, and quality standards on site.
- Identify construction challenges and provide basic troubleshooting, escalating more complex technical issues to the Site Supervisor or Construction Site Coordinator.
- Assist in field coordination as needed
- Adheres to an agreed set of safety and quality standards and ensures these standards are maintained.
- Assist with the procurement, receipt, organization, and tracking of construction materials and tools.
- Work closely with the Construction Site Coordinator and Site Supervisor to receive coaching, feedback, and practical training while progressively taking on additional responsibilities.
- Build construction, safety, leadership, and site coordination skills through hands-on experience and guidance from experienced staff.
- Progressively develop the skills needed to lead work teams, oversee construction activities, and troubleshoot common site issues with greater independence.

Position Requirements
- Education High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Related Experience 2+ months of volunteer and 1+ month Team Leader and/or Site Manager All Hands and Hearts experience.
- Special Competencies/Certification Good written and oral communication skills and confident working with Google Workspace, particularly Google Docs and Google Sheets; and Microsoft Office. Applicants need to be well organized and have a flexible approach to managing multiple tasks and prioritizing them appropriately. The individual is able to manage a large workload and perform in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Constantly works in outdoor adverse weather conditions
- Frequently moves items weighing up to 40 lbs on work site or on base

Compensation & Benefits
- Pay rate is $15.00 USD/ hour
