FT day shift position in Mountain Family Care Center

Ashe Memorial Hospital is seeking a qualified and dependable team member to join our team in a
home-based Float
position . The selected candidate will have a designated home department (Mtn. Family Care Center) and will primarily support that area while also providing coverage to other departments or areas as needed based on staffing and operational needs.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Medical Assistant is the main link between the patients and the provider. The Medical Assistant provides care and related services to patients in the clinic.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

• Completion of a Medical Office Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, or Certified Medical Assistant program, or equivalent training preferred.

• Previous CMA/RMA experience preferred.

License/Certifications:

• Current BLS certification.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Manages the clinical function of the practice under the direction of the Physicians.

• Trains and educates practice staff.

• Accurately obtain and record vital signs and pertinent observations of patient visit.

• Prepare patients and be readily available to assist provider.

• Follow physician orders to perform and/or assist phlebotomy, sterile procedures diagnostic procedures and other procedures within the scope of practice.

• Facilitate patient flow.

• Prepare and maintain examination and treatment areas.

• Communicate with patient by telephone and confer with provider.

• Educate patient who have special needs.

• Maintains Laboratory records and patient results.

• Monthly checks of medications for expiration dates.

• Demonstrates good verbal and written communication and telephone skills.

• Attends staff, educational, safety, and training meetings.

• Abide by policies and procedures of AMH.

• Performs other duties as assigned

Must be willing to receive all required vaccinations (i.e., flu shot, etc.).
