The Opportunity
The Foreman is responsible for leading field personnel and coordinating daily construction activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project plans and quality standards. This role requires hands-on leadership, trade expertise, and the ability to oversee manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors while maintaining productivity and jobsite safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and direct field crews to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Develop and maintain weekly work plans, including manpower, equipment, and material scheduling.
- Utilize company technology, including iPads, email, Procore, daily reports, and safety documentation.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and field layouts.
- Perform and supervise construction activities typically associated with commercial and residential construction, including:
- Formwork fabrication and installation
- Batter board preparation and placement
- Anchor bolt installation
- Framing, truss installation, sheathing, trim, and related carpentry work
- Perform advanced layout and surveying tasks using total stations, lasers, and other field instruments.
- Install finish materials including cabinetry, countertops, doors, trim, hardware, partitions, flooring, benches, and related components.
- Complete assigned tasks and small work orders with minimal supervision.
- Monitor workmanship and maintain high standards of quality and attention to detail.
- Promote and enforce all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, safety manuals, and written instructions.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and field operations.
- Proficiency with field layout equipment, including total stations and laser instruments.
- Experience using construction management software and mobile technology.
Mathematical and Analytical Skills
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
- Ability to calculate areas, volumes, elevations, and quantities.
- Working knowledge of geometry and basic trigonometry.
Leadership and Problem Solving
- Ability to lead crews effectively and maintain productive working relationships.
- Ability to apply sound judgment and solve field-related issues.
- Capable of working independently while managing multiple priorities.

Employees are expected to maintain a standard set of trade tools, including but not limited to:

Other Requirements:
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of construction experience in a leadership or foreman role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- OSHA 10-Hour Certification required or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
- Required certifications for equipment or tools operated by personnel under the Foreman's supervision.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and other environmental conditions.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 10 hours per day.
- Ability to kneel, crouch, stoop, crawl, climb, and balance as required by the job.
- Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 45 pounds.
- Occasionally lift, push, pull, and carry up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to use hands and arms continuously to handle tools, materials, and equipment.
- Visual abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to hear verbal instructions, warning signals, and jobsite communications.
