Position Summary
The Production Technician supports daily manufacturing and warehouse operations while learning and developing the skills necessary to operate specialized production equipment, including the frame machine. This hands-on role assists with door production, finishing, staging, material handling, pocket frame assembly, deliveries, and general shop support. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-minded, eager to learn, and willing to assist wherever needed to keep production moving efficiently.
Essential Job Duties
- Learn and assist with operation of the frame machine and other production equipment.
- Catch, inspect, finish, and stage doors for shipment and installation.
- Build and assemble pocket door frames and related components.
- Load and unload materials, products, and deliveries.
- Organize, stock, and restock inventory, supplies, and production materials.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Assist with shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
- Make local deliveries as needed.
- Support production teams with general labor tasks and special projects.
- Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and quality standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support manufacturing and operational needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, warehouse, construction, carpentry, or general labor experience preferred but not required.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment and processes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record preferred.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly stand and walk for extended periods.
- Must be able to perform heavy physical labor, including regularly lifting, carrying, and loading doors and building materials weighing up to 150 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
- Ability to work in a warehouse and manufacturing environment with exposure to varying temperatures, dust, noise, and moving equipment.
- Ability to safely load, unload, and move materials throughout the facility.
