Position Overview
The Employment Specialist for the YouthBuild Training & Employment Program will support young adults in preparing for and securing meaningful employment opportunities. This role focuses on career counseling, job readiness training, employer engagement, and participant retention support to help individuals successfully navigate the workforce
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities :Conduct one-on-one career counseling sessions to assess participant skills, interests, and career goalsDevelop individualized career plans tailored to participants’ strengths and aspirationsAssist with resume development, interview preparation, and job search strategiesConnect participants with employment opportunities and coordinate interviews with employersProvide ongoing application and interview support, including mock interviews and coachingFacilitate workshops focused on job readiness, workplace communication, time management, and professional etiquetteBuild relationships with local businesses, organizations, and educational institutions to expand employment opportunitiesAttend job fairs, networking events, and community outreach activities to promote the programTrack participant progress, employment outcomes, and program performance metricsConduct follow-up and retention support with participants and employers after placement to ensure long-term successIdentify additional support needs, including workplace coaching, conflict resolution, and on-the-job training assistance
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor’s degree in vocational rehabilitation or a related fieldMinimum of three years of experience in workforce development or vocational rehabilitationStrong knowledge of employment trends, recruitment strategies, and workforce development practicesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populationsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team environmentSpanish fluency
preferred Experience working with young adults in career counseling or workforce development preferred
Pay Range
USD $60,000.00 - USD $60,000.00 /Hr.
