Overview

At Key West Historic Inns, the Front Desk is where many of our guest relationships begin. As a Front Desk Agent, you’ll welcome guests to our historic properties, help them settle in, answer questions, and be a familiar face they can turn to throughout their stay.

This role is a mix of guest service, problem-solving, and genuine connection. You’ll manage arrivals and departures, assist with requests, share your knowledge of our inns and Key West, and work closely with the rest of the team to make sure our guests feel taken care of from check-in to check-out.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys meeting people, communicates naturally, and can stay organized when the Front Desk gets busy. If you enjoy hospitality, know how to make people feel welcome, and like being part of what makes a guest’s trip memorable, we’d love to meet you.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and provide a friendly, smooth check-in and check-out experience

• Assist guests with questions, requests, directions, and recommendations throughout their stay

• Process payments, deposits, and other Front Desk transactions accurately

• Manage guest reservations and maintain accurate guest information in the hotel system

• Answer incoming calls and assist guests with hotel information and general inquiries

• Respond to guest concerns with patience and good judgment, involving a leader when needed

• Stay familiar with our inns, amenities, services, and the Key West area so you can confidently assist guests

• Communicate guest requests and important information to Housekeeping, Engineering, and other departments

• Follow up on guest needs to make sure requests have been addressed

• Maintain an organized and welcoming Front Desk area

• Complete assigned Front Desk duties and shift responsibilities accurately

• Communicate important guest information and follow-up needs to the next shift

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Previous Front Desk, hotel, or customer service experience preferred

• Prior cash handling experience preferred

• Friendly and professional communication skills

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay organized

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy guest-facing environment

• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to handle guest concerns calmly

• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently

• Strong computer skills and the ability to learn hotel systems

• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

• Dependable and flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
