Acts as the field-level connector and advocate, not the resolver. Timely and accurate escalation to HR is a core performance expectation.

HOW SUCCESS IS MEASURED
Client retention in assigned portfolio - No at-risk contracts escalate without early CSD involvement and documented action plan.
RVP capacity relief - RVPs report meaningful reduction in day-to-day operational interruptions from CSD-covered markets.
Issue resolution cycle time - Operational issues are closed at the CSD level; escalation rate to RVP is tracked and declining.
Locum and premium pay reduction - Month-over-month reduction in locum reliance and unplanned premium pay in assigned markets.
Clinician satisfaction / retention - Chiefs and clinicians in CSD-supported markets report accessible, responsive support.
Client relationship health - Regular cadenced client touchpoints are documented; no significant satisfaction deterioration goes unreported.

The Clinical Services Director (CSD) is a senior field-facing role responsible for the operational and financial health, clinician experience, and client relationships across an assigned portfolio of NAPA markets. While the role offers flexibility regarding work location, employees are expected to reside within the designated region. The CSD is deployed where need and opportunity are greatest — providing consistent, high-quality support to their markets and amplifying the capacity and effectiveness of their VP of Operations who carries ultimate portfolio accountability.

The CSD role has full P&L ownership for their market and serves as the trusted, accountable partner to both NAPA clients and the clinicians who serve them. This is an intentionally matrixed role. The CSD works within the dyad clinical and operational leadership of their region, and is also expected to work through centralized service delivery leadership to achieve great outcomes. They consistently model the kind of cross-functional partnering that produces repeatable, high-quality output across every market they support.
