Responsibilities
- Under general supervision, coordinates the implementation of research protocols approved for activation by the Mercy Medical Center IRB. Manages and conducts all aspects of multiple clinical research projects and pharmaceutical trials, both investigator- initiated and industry sponsored. Ensures compliance with federal, state, institutional and sponsor guidelines and regulations.
- Coordinates the day-to-day activities of clinical research studies from study start-up through study closeout, ensuring adherence to approved protocols, institutional policies, sponsor requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Serves as a primary point of contact for study-related communications with Principal Investigators, Sub-Investigators, sponsors, Contract Research Organizations (CROs), vendors, laboratory personnel, pharmacy, nursing, and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinates and supports Site Qualification Visits (SQVs), Site Initiation Visits (SIVs), routine monitoring visits, audit visits, and study closeout visits, including scheduling, preparation of required documentation, meeting coordination, facility tours, and follow-up of action items.
- Prepares study teams and clinical departments for sponsor and CRO visits and ensures that requested study documentation, source documents, regulatory files, investigational product information, laboratory records, and other study materials are available for review.
- Coordinates with sponsors, CROs, central laboratories, vendors, and other study partners regarding study supplies, equipment, laboratory requirements, technology platforms, and other study-related needs.
- Maintains ongoing communication with study sponsors and CROs and assists with resolution of study-related questions, operational issues, data queries, protocol concerns, and outstanding action items.
- Assists with study feasibility assessments, study start-up activities, site activation requirements, and development of study-specific workflows and operational procedures.
- Monitors study progress, recruitment, enrollment, participant visits, data completion, and study milestones and communicates status updates and potential issues to the Principal Investigator and appropriate research leadership.
Requirements
- EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Education and Work Experience:
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Must possess a degree in BA/BS.
- 1-3 years working in a research setting coordinating complex projects or comparable relevant experience.
