Who We Are
At Academy Sports + Outdoors our vision is to be the best sports + outdoors retailer in the country — but what truly sets us apart is our people. We’re a passionate, purpose-driven team that’s as committed to each other as we are to our customers.

We’ve spent over 80 years building a culture that puts people first. We believe in creating opportunities for growth, fostering meaningful connections, and supporting every Team Member’s journey. What fuels us? Our belief in the power of fun.

Here, you won’t just help customers gear up for their next adventure — you’ll launch one of your own. Whether you're starting out or leveling up, Academy is a place where fun can’t lose!

What You Will Work On
You help shape how customers discover, browse, and shop categories on Academy.com by connecting assortment, merchandising, marketing, and site experience. Your work helps support sales, merchandising margin, and gross profit goals while improving the customer journey through intuitive navigation, promotional planning, reporting, and performance optimization. By using customer signals, web analytics, competitive insights, stock position, pricing, and key initiatives, you help identify opportunities and risks that can improve the online shopping experience.

Your work focuses on partnering with DMM and buying groups to influence the Omnichannel assortment, coordinating messaging and cross-promotional opportunities with Marketing and Merchandising, and creating and executing a marketing calendar for enterprise and web-specific initiatives. You manage site real estate merchandising campaigns throughout the customer journey, analyze category marketing and featured placements, share site performance reporting with partners, and help drive projects that enhance the shopping experience. You also collaborate with Digital Marketing on traffic-generating channels, conduct competitive research, synthesize trends, and provide recommendations to cross-functional groups.

Who You Will Work With
Working across DMM partners, buying groups, Marketing, Merchandising, Omnichannel support teams, Digital Marketing, and cross-functional groups, you help align business priorities with how customers experience categories online. This role requires clear communication, strong analysis, and the ability to turn complex performance and customer information into practical recommendations.

You also work closely with partners who influence assortment, promotions, customer-facing marketing, site performance, and traffic-generating channels. Your collaboration helps ensure online merchandising activity supports desired business results.
