Job Description:
Duration/Hours :
June 7, 2027 – August 13, 2027
Pay rate is $25/hour for undergraduate students (Candidates must be rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later)
Full-time; 37.5 hours per week
Based in Washington, DC, with an expectation to work onsite at least two days per week.
ABA’s Internship provides students with a paid opportunity to work with one of the biggest trade associations in Washington, DC. This extremely selective opportunity provides students with the opportunity to do substantial work in various divisions across ABA, connect with leadership, build a network, and make a difference.
- Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with congressional outreach efforts by tracking legislative activity, maintaining stakeholder contact lists, and supporting communications with congressional offices and committees.
- Monitor congressional hearings, briefings, and policy developments; prepare summaries, research memos, and background materials for internal stakeholders.
- Manage and update advocacy-related webpages and digital content to ensure information is accurate, timely, and aligned with organizational priorities.
- Review, edit, and coordinate joint trades letters, comment letters, and other advocacy materials to support policy initiatives and industry engagement.
- Attend congressional hearings, briefings, or industry events as needed in addition to standard business hours.
- Required Skills
- Demonstrated interest in government relations, congressional affairs, public policy, advocacy, or the financial services industry.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, professional environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Minimum Education Requirements
- Candidates must be rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors at an accredited university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Preferred Fields of Study
- Political Science, Public Policy, Government, Communications, Public Affairs, Journalism, or a related field.
Salary Band Range:
$15.00 - $37.50 - $60.00
