SUMMARY:

Under general supervision of the IS EHRI Services Manager, installing, managing, and monitoring all Epic and Citrix infrastructure. Installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools. Assist Applications Systems Analysts, IT Operations Engineers, and others in resolving complex internal control systems problems.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The candidate will be responsible for the implementation of Epic solutions, leading Epic projects, and mentoring junior engineers.
Epic Architecture - Design and architect scalable, secure, and reliable Epic solutions
Manage upgrades of assigned applications with Epic by setting timelines, maintaining continuous communication, and addressing any issues.
Optimization: Optimize Epic infrastructure for performance, cost-efficiency, and security.
Monitoring: Administer, configure, and monitor all servers and infrastructure which support our Epic EMR as needed.
Troubleshooting: Resolve complex issues related to Epic infrastructure and applications.
Project Leadership: Lead Epic projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to best practices.
Mentorship: Mentor and guide junior Epic engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of Epic systems and processes.
Security: Implement and manage advanced security measures to protect Epic environments.
Support - Take part in regular on-call rotation.
Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma Required. A degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is strongly preferred.

Certification on a major technology platform is preferred. Epic certification must be obtained in the first year of employment. Epic Operational Database Administrator or Epic Certified Systems Administrator certification is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:
7-10 years of experience in Epic computing or related fields. Prior Epic Engineering roles preferred. Possesses understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Epic architecture, automation tools, and security best practices. Knowledge of Citrix and Netscaler highly preferred. Experience with VMware, Microsoft Server Administration, and Load Balancing is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of hypervisor management, server deployment, management and troubleshooting. Linux and Windows management skills. Database administration experience is preferred.
Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
