Triage Allergy Nurse - Naperville
- Full-Time, 40 hours/ week
- Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:45-430 Rotating Saturdays
- Location: Naperville
- $5,000 Sign-On Bonus Eligible
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and health concerns by phone using physician-approved protocols and established nursing guidelines.
- Use clinical judgment to prioritize patient needs and determine appropriate next steps, including routing urgent concerns to a physician, PA or NP.
- Provide personalized patient education related to medications, diagnostic testing, nutrition, wellness and ongoing care.
- Respond to patient messages, questions and test results while providing reassurance and compassionate support.
- Schedule appointments, tests and procedures as needed and assist with insurance prior authorizations.
- Review provider-ordered prescriptions and authorize or deny requests in accordance with established guidelines.
- Accurately document patient communications, assessments, education and follow-up in the medical record.
- Serve as a clinical resource for office staff and assist with questions related to patient care.
- Support the orientation and training of new team members.
- Partner with physicians and the broader care team to ensure patients receive timely, coordinated care.
- Serve as a patient advocate and help create a positive patient experience at every interaction.
Experience and Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in nursing.
- Prefer a minimum of one year of professional nursing experience in a clinical or hospital setting but may consider new grad under specific circumstances.
The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $27.00-38.50, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
