Job Description
The Server is responsible for courteously serving resident and guest meals, and for clean-up and resetting of dining room following meal service.

Job Responsibilities
Assist residents when placing orders from the menu.
Provide beverage service, including water, iced tea, juices, milk, and coffee/tea.
Refill salt, pepper, and sugar bowls prior to and after each meal.
Report any broken equipment or tableware to the supervisor.
Understand and follow proper sit-down service and serving techniques.
Maintain a basic understanding of food preparation, including salads, desserts, and other food items.
Maintain knowledge of proper food storage and labeling techniques.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum kitchen and dining room areas.
Attend all required in-services and staff meetings.
Complete all other duties as assigned.
Remain attentive to the special needs of residents, including mobility deficits, memory impairment, and other individual needs.
Assist with tray service.
Follow confidentiality policies regarding the release of resident information.
Interact with residents, guests, co-workers, and supervisors in a polite, respectful, and considerate manner.
Requirements
Must wear a clean, designated uniform during working hours and maintain good personal hygiene.
Must be able to read and follow simple instructions.
Must possess the ability to perform simple, repetitive tasks.
Must be able to learn quickly and apply learned principles.
Must be able to communicate effectively and work under close supervision.
Must be able to bend, reach, grasp, push, and pull objects.
Must be able to stand and walk for sustained periods of up to three (3) hours at a time.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis and carry heavy objects for up to 20 feet.
Must be organized and willing to work well with other team members.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.
