Strategic Account Manager – St. Petersburg, FL

At Velocity Electronics, a Jabil Company , we believe strong customer relationships are the foundation of sustainable growth. We are looking for an accomplished Strategic Account Manager (SAM) to join our team in St. Petersburg, Florida , and take ownership of a portfolio of key customer accounts.

This is more than an account management role. You will serve as a strategic partner to our customers , uncovering opportunities, solving challenges, and connecting customer needs with the right solutions across sales, sourcing, and operations. You’ll build trusted relationships, influence business decisions, and directly contribute to revenue and profitability.

• What You will Do
• Build Strategic Customer Partnerships
• Develop deep knowledge of key customers, including their business structure, culture, priorities, challenges, and growth opportunities.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with key customer contacts and decision-makers.
• Act as a primary point of contact, ensuring customers receive responsive, knowledgeable, and consistent support.
• Drive Sales & Profitable Growth
• Manage and grow a portfolio of strategic customer accounts.
• Identify new opportunities within existing accounts and develop strategies to expand business.
• Consistently achieve monthly and quarterly sales and gross profit objectives.
• Partner with internal teams to align customer requirements with global sales and purchasing strategies.
• Deliver Solutions & Exceptional Customer Service
• Understand customer needs and proactively identify solutions that create value.
• Respond quickly and effectively to customer requests, challenges, and business opportunities.
• Leverage product, market, sourcing, and industry knowledge to provide informed recommendations.
• Own Data, Systems & Execution
• Maintain accurate customer, quotation, contract, and sales information within ERP and CRM systems.
• Document customer interactions and maintain disciplined records of all customer touchpoints.
• Ensure customer requirements and business information are accurately captured and communicated across the organization.
• Create and present periodic reports highlighting customer activity, sales performance, and gross profit results.
• Invest in Your Development
• Take ownership of your professional development and continuously strengthen your knowledge of sales, sourcing, products, customers, and business processes.
• Stay current on market trends, customer needs, and the electronics component industry.

• What You will Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field. (Preferred)
• 2+ years of sales experience within the electronic components industry.
• Proven experience in strategic account management, sales, sourcing, and/or customer relationship management.
• Strong knowledge of electronic components and the distribution industry.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Commercial mindset with a track record of achieving sales and profitability goals.
• Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
• Strong ownership mentality and the ability to move quickly from identifying a customer need to delivering a solution.
