Lead Emergency & Critical Care in Whitefish

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN leader to serve as our RN Director, Emergency & Critical Care, providing strategic and operational leadership for our Emergency Department and Special Care Unit (SCU).
Our 9-bed Emergency Department cares for more than 12,000 patients annually and serves as a state-designated trauma center. Our 4-bed SCU provides specialized care within our critical access hospital.

 What You'll Do
- Provide leadership and oversight for Emergency Department and SCU operations.
- Lead, develop and engage experienced clinical teams.
- Partner with physicians and interdisciplinary leaders to support high-quality patient care.
- Oversee staffing, resources, quality and departmental performance.
- Support trauma, cardiac and stroke initiatives.
- Lead performance improvement and operational initiatives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and clinical excellence.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a strong, clinically credible nurse leader with Emergency Department leadership experience who can build trust with experienced teams and providers while effectively leading day-to-day operations.
Experience in trauma, critical access hospitals or other complex acute care environments is highly valued.
- Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Five (5) years of progressive nursing leadership experience, including significant Emergency Department leadership experience.
- Current Montana RN License or a multistate compact license with authorization to practice nursing in Montana required.
- Working knowledge of healthcare delivery systems and clinical operations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage clinical operations and make sound decisions in a complex healthcare environment.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and computerized clinical documentation systems.
- Strong organizational, communication, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with physicians, staff and interdisciplinary leaders.
- RQI Provider (BLS) within 7 days of hire/transfer or before independent patient care, whichever comes first.
- ALS within 6 months of hire/transfer.
- PALS within 6 months of hire/transfer.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or related field.
- Experience leading Emergency Department operations in a hospital or critical access hospital setting.
- Trauma, cardiac or stroke program experience.
- Proficiency in project management.
- Experience with rapid-cycle improvement, Lean or other performance improvement methodologies.
- CEN, TCRN or other relevant specialty certification.

Schedule:
Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
