About The Position | Major Goals and Objectives and Location Requirements:
People Inc. is seeking an experienced former law enforcement professional to serve as Security Operations Supervisor, to oversee front-desk security operations and provide hands-on support for event security and incident response. Reporting to the Manager, Security Operations, this position is primarily stationed at the ground-floor front desk and combines a professional, welcoming presence with the judgment and experience needed to protect employees, executives, and visitors.
The Supervisor works alongside in-house and contracted security personnel, coordinates front-of-house coverage, and provides operational direction during events and emergencies. The role works closely with the GSOC, reception, Facilities, and event organizers to maintain effective communication and consistent security procedures.

The Security team at People Inc. is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of employees, facilities, and assets across all office site locations. The team partners closely with contracted security staff, reception, facilities, event teams, and law enforcement agencies to deliver a consistent and resilient security program.
About The Position’s Contributions:
Accountabilities, Actions, and Expected Measurable Results
- Front Desk Security and Guest Services
- Oversee daily front-desk security operations, coordinate post coverage, provide operational direction to assigned security personnel, and ensure visitor access procedures and service standards are consistently followed.
- Greet and assist employees, executives, visitors, vendors, and delivery personnel in a professional and courteous manner. Verify visitor identities, appointments, and access authorization.
- Maintain awareness of lobby and entrance activity; identify and address unauthorized access, suspicious activity, disruptive behavior, and other security concerns.
- Use sound judgment and de-escalation techniques to manage difficult interactions and respond appropriately to potential threats.
- Support routine visitor badging and temporary access needs in accordance with established procedures, and coordinate credential issues with designated security personnel.
- Coordinate front-desk, turnstile, and reception coverage, ensuring appropriate relief when responding to incidents or supporting events.
- Event Security Oversight
- Assist with security planning and oversee on-site security operations for internal meetings, executive events, and third-party events.
- Coordinate event security staffing and post assignments; brief personnel on event details, expected attendees, access procedures, relevant security concerns, and escalation protocols.
- Oversee event entry procedures, guest check-in, and visitor flow; coordinate with event organizers, vendors, the GSOC, and public safety personnel as needed.
- Incident Response and GSOC Coordination
- Respond to security incidents, medical emergencies, workplace violence concerns, and evacuations; provide initial direction to security personnel until relieved by Security Management or public safety responders.
- Maintain communication with the GSOC during incidents and events, ensuring timely escalation, required notifications, and coordination of responding resources.
- Prepare accurate incident reports and operational records, communicate concerns to Security Management, and assist with follow-up and after-action reviews.
The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:
Education:
College degree in criminal justice, security management, or a related field.
Required Qualifications
- Law Enforcement and Leadership Experience
- Minimum of five years of sworn law enforcement experience, including substantial field response, public interaction, and management of difficult or unpredictable situations.
- Demonstrated experience in de-escalation, emergency response, and making sound decisions under pressure.
- Experience directing personnel or coordinating operations during routine assignments, incidents, or special events.
- Licenses and Certifications
- Must be authorized to carry a firearm in the performance of assigned security duties and maintain all required licenses, certifications, and qualifications.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required First Aid, CPR, AED, and applicable FDNY certifications.
- Professional Skills and Operational Requirements
- Ability and willingness to work primarily at the front desk in a hands-on security and guest-facing role.
- Professional demeanor and strong customer-service, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with senior executives and the public.
- Working knowledge of access control, CCTV, visitor management, and incident reporting systems; proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently, follow established procedures, and coordinate effectively with other security personnel and departments.
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the position, including patrols and periods of standing or walking, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Successful completion of required pre-employment screening.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in corporate security, executive-facing environments, or event security operations.
- Experience coordinating in-house and contracted security personnel and working with a GSOC or command center.

Pay Range
Hourly: New York: $35.00 - $40.00
The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
