The HR Business Partner is a fully qualified, experienced professional who partners with leaders to align human resources strategy with organizational goals. This role resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways, working on problems of diverse scope to resolve complex operational issues, mitigate talent risks, and provide proactive consultative advisory.
Note: This position is in office in Phoenix, AZ 3 days per week
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Strategic Thinking & Problem Solving
Applies HR policies to resolve operational issues of diverse scope, using sophisticated analytical and problem-solving techniques to identify root causes.
Devises solutions based on limited information and precedent, assessing unusual circumstances to mitigate risk at the manager level.
Supports core HR processes like engagement surveys and the employee lifecycle from hire to separation i.e., onboarding (new hire orientation), transfers, offboarding, leaves of absence and unemployment claims.
Influence & Employee Relations
First-line support for employee relations and conducts formal investigations.
Coaches managers on performance management and employee development, adapting style to differing audiences to resolve complex and sensitive ER cases.
Enhances relationships with internal partners who are not familiar with the subject matter, often requiring persuasion and serving as a trusted advisor.
Apply HR policies and processes, recommending decisions to resolve operational issues at the manager level. Gain manager cooperation on compliance.
HR Data & Talent Planning
Analyzes people data and trends using evaluation techniques to support HR recommendations, select the right course of action, and suggest variations in approach.
Supports the execution of talent management processes, such as talent reviews and succession planning, working independently with reviews at critical points.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
Complete knowledge and full understanding of HR principles, practices, and specific business regulations.
Strong analytical mindset to synthesize employee data and excellent workshop facilitation skills.
Adept at evaluating diverse situations, working independently, and advising on difficult and sensitive matters.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES / CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
Minimum of 5 years of related experience; or  combination of education and equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional HR Certification (e.g., SHRM-CP or PHR).
Foundational HR/Project Management certifications (e.g., CAPM).
