The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is seeking a skilled and motivated Physical Security Specialist to support safety and resilience across our Highways East facilities. This role is ideal for a security professional who enjoys fieldwork, problem solving, technology oversight, and collaborating with diverse teams to keep people, assets, and operations secure.

What You’ll Do

The successful candidate will be assigned to an office located within 30 miles of their home address. Travel throughout the assigned territory is required to support operational needs.

This position requires a valid driver’s license due to required business-related travel and the need to operate a company or personal vehicle while conducting security related duties. Responsibilities may include duties such as traveling between company locations or work sites, attending meetings or training sessions, delivering or retrieving documents, supplies, or equipment, making postal runs, and completing other off-site administrative or operational tasks as assigned.

Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five (5) years of progressively experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
