Job Summary
Primoris Services Corporation is seeking a skilled and experienced CDL Driver to join our Primoris Heavy Civil team in Golden Meadow, Louisiana.
Job Responsibilities
- Operate various heavy-duty trucks, including tractor-trailers, dump trucks, and lowboy trailers, to transport construction materials, heavy equipment, and other freight.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers, ensuring all components are in good working order and reporting any defects or issues immediately.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations, including Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines.
- Secure loads properly using chains, binders, tarps, and other appropriate methods to prevent shifting or damage during transport.
- Maintain accurate logbooks, mileage records, and other required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and other team members regarding schedules, routes, and potential delays.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of vehicles and equipment.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment as needed.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Work in various weather conditions and potentially irregular hours, including nights and weekends, as required by project demands.
Job Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy-duty commercial vehicles, preferably in a construction or heavy civil environment.
- Experience with lowboy trailers, dump trucks, and other specialized hauling equipment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and ability to maintain accurate logbooks.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical examination.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules, including extended hours and weekends, as project needs dictate.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
