Job Description:
The Department of Administrative Services - State Building Division is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join their team! This person is the local contact to our customer base and immediate supervisor of 9 individuals. They coordinate with building occupants on what areas are being used and the availability. They will direct staff on repairs and purchasing parts and supplies up to $1000. Directs day to day operations and any repairs at the LETC campus and state patrol office in Grand Island.

Job Duties: Under general direction, this position will perform responsible supervisory, administrative, and managerial work in the operation and maintenance of a large state facility. This position will be responsible for scheduling staff, supervising staff, administrative duties, maintenance and training, and interacting with building occupants and coordinating building use. All other duties assigned withing the scope of the classification.

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree or equivalent vocational education in construction, HVAC, welding, or other maintenance/construction trade, one year of experience in skilled building maintenance or a mechanical trade, and experience monitoring, coordinating, leading, or supervising the work of maintenance staff and/or projects. Experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis

Preferred Qualifications: Previous supervision of staff of 10 or more staff in a 24/7 facility. Journeyman or license in electrical or plumbing. Several years of HVAC experience.

Other: Driving is required for this position. As such, the incumbent must provide a valid driver's license. Regular and Reliable attendance is required.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am-4:00pm with on call rotation

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Supervision of direct subordinates, HVAC knowledge, basic electrical, basic carpentry, basic plumbing, basic computer skills, and basic housekeeping knowledge.
