About the Role:

13 The Role: Director, Government Affairs and Public Policy

The Team:
In this role, you will be responsible for managing projects across a broad range of issues. You will report into the Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy for the Americas and will work on a team to manage our strategy and execution for engagement with U.S. policymakers. You will coordinate closely with the business and product organizations and key cross-functional partners across Commercial and Product Leads, Legal, and Communications teams to design and evaluate responses to policy challenges. In addition, you will help develop our internal and external narrative around key policy challenges and engage key policy stakeholders.

The Impact:
You have a strong track record in effective communication and relationship management along with excellent analytical and organizational skills. You have a strong policymaker and policy stakeholder network and can work to establish new relationships. You can collaborate seamlessly with your colleagues across teams and are able to develop and implement creative ideas with the discipline to manage competing priorities in a rapidly changing environment. You have experience either working with or in Congress, a regulatory agency, a corporate public policy team, trade association, or other government role as well as a demonstrated ability to grasp complex technical and policy issues.

As a Director, you will collaborate to help strengthen S&P Global’s advocacy strategy with policy makers and influencers inside and outside of government. In addition, you will lead work advising our internal teams on the public policy implications of their products and services, working with a closely coordinated and cross-functional global team to help shape the policy landscape around pressing S&P Global policy issues.

What’s in it for you:
In this role, under the direction of the Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy for the Americas, you will track various legislative and regulatory proposals and analyze their potential impact on S&P Global’s business. You will also provide project management support on major initiatives our team is leading to advance key strategic and operational priorities of S&P Global.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $126,676 to $221,434 USD. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
