A Brief Overview
This position is responsible for supervision of the registered nurses, LPNs and PCTs in the Birthplace. Their responsibilities primarily focus on managing the operational aspects of the departments including: Scheduling; daily assignments; communications with staff; collaboration with the interdisciplinary team including but not limited to daily multi-disciplinary rounds, collaboration with other maternal/child departments related to staffing and patient care management; employee evaluation; employee performance; and oversight of documentation. In addition, this position is the primary contact to whom providers may bring issues regarding the registered nurses within the department. This position supports department service and hospital standards. They have to maintain competency on assessing and managing the patients within their department to be able to assist staff as needed.
